The Best Coffee Shop in Willmar, Mn

Coffee Shop Willmar, Mn   I'm just gonna say it, the best Coffee Shop in Willmar, Mn has got to be Dunn Bros. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a home-grown boy and I love to support the local businesses, but since a couple years ago when I discovered Dunn Bros in the cities, I fell in love. Last year, when they had reached out into Willmar, Mn, I knew it was going to be too hard for me to withstand the aroma of oh so tasty, freshly-roasted coffee. The actual setup of the coffee shop is pretty basic. It's got kind of a big-city in-out feel, but it still has a wonderful atmosphere to sit and enjoy yourself for a while. I like the fact that the place is opened up a bit so it feels like you have some room to stretch out.

While this is all fine and dandy, I must say, the kicker for me is the fact that they roast their own coffee beans. A lot of times, it's kind of hit-or-miss with a few Coffee Shops, as you don't really know when the beans were roasted. Dunn Bros. Is very open about this. If you pick up a bag, the roast date is marked on it in plain black permanent marker. I've yet to see a bag older than probably four days. I believe it's simply because they can control the amount they set out, due to the fact that they can run custom sized batches since their roaster is in the coffee shop, right here in Willmar, Mn (which makes an awesome aroma, by the way). Also, I believe the turn-around for selling the beans is great, as they are very delicious.

So hey, next time you are in Willmar (or in the Cities, or really, they trail down central states), make sure to swing in and grab a cup, you won't be disappointed! Also, sign up to their newsletter, they'll give you a complimentary cup of coffee if you do. They'll also send you assorted coupons every couple of weeks.

(Also, on another totally different topic, I passed my black belt test last night! w00t!)

Accessories 4 Trucks Willmar, Mn

Welcome to my second installment for local business reviews in the lovely town of Willmar, Mn (My first was about Dunn Bros). I am generally going to keep these light-weight and overall positive reviews, with the rare exception if I get unusually poor service. Why am I doing these? First and foremost, personal opinion matters in real life as well as the web. I commonly will Google a business to check any sort of reputation before using their services. If the business has a website rich with information, wonderful! I'll eat it up. However, I strongly value the opinion of the mighty individual. Secondly, Google picks up on personal opinion, so I figure I'll help these businesses out by spreading the good word. Without further adieu I present Accessories 4 Trucks.

If you know me, you know  I don't own a truck. Instead I own a relatively fruity looking 1997 Dodge Neon. Her name is uoeu. I have owned her for five years, she is a manual tranny and has an undetermined amount of miles. Last February, due to negative 20 degree temperatures, it was quite obvious that my battery was not up to par (one time leaving me at the mercy of a client who was compassionate enough to give me a jump start). Lesson learned! I was officially on the lookout for an Interstate brand battery.

This brought me to Accessories 4 Trucks, who I believe may be the only business in Willmar, Mn to carry Interstate brand. I'm no car person. I know how to change my oil, install a batter and do other minimal maintenance, but not much past that. Because of this I usually feel alienated to the whole automobile scene, whether it's machine shops or car stores. I ask wrong questions and oftenly get the "What the hell are you talking about, get out of here, kid" look. The representative who helped me out at Accessories 4 Trucks was not like this at all. He was very friendly, extremely helpful and filled me in on not only what I needed to know to make a battery purchase, but also a few other details on the battery I was purchasing. I felt like a valued and respected customer.

I didn't really look into what other services they offer, but they seemed to have a lot of other general automobile stuff which expanded outside of the "trucks" part of their name. I'll gladly do business with them again in the future.

I'm Famous!

Well, not quite. But I did make it into another local publication recently called , Bring Them Back Home. It is published by the Kandiyohi EDC. It's mainly about the Kandiyohi area, why I'm still around here, why you should move back and how the Internets are revolutionising how we do business today. There's also some pictures in it that make me look real good. :-) Click the link below to get the full scoop:
